wet n wild Gray's Anatomy + Rimmel Camouflage

I managed to find a couple of the new fastdry wet Wwnw polishes and new 6 pan palettes the other day. And I got a coupon in my e-mail from wnw for $1.00 off any wnw purchase of $2.99 or more + they are on sale at Walgreens! So see if you can find them!

Here is Gray's Anatomy... I think this could be a good dupe for Katy Perry's OPI Not Like the Movies, but that's total speculation. Here's Scrangie's pic of Not Like the Movies and here's Scrangie comparing Gray's Anatomy to Deborah Lippmann Wicked Game.

I did three coats alone and there was still a VNL so I layered it over one of the colors in this duochrome. I chose Rimmel Camouflage.

This is so much more stunning IRL!!! Sorry these didn't come out so well. Definitely not fast drying for either of these. I added ChG Fast Forward to speed up the process a bit.

OK the other day I posted that I thought this was comparable to one of Zoya's new spring polishes- Gemma. Well I am totally off! This is Kelly @ Vampy Varnish's swatch of Gemma and I am off, don't know what I was thinking! But I think to dupe Gemma you need kind of a pea green base and maybe one of the CND sparkle effects polishes with a blue cast? Don't know...whatever.

What do you think of this combo? Have you picked up any new wnw polishes yet?

A Beautiful Life Review

A while back I was sent 2 nail polishes and a soy nail polish remover from A Beautiful Life to review.

The first I tried was Frosh, a medium pink with a purple flash. This one went on a bit thick and I tried to use drying drops with a topcoat and this is what happened:

The tips shrunk a lot and the polish pulled inwards. That gouge on my thumb is from my little 7 month old brother-in-law about an hour after I applied the drying drops. So I started again...
This is how my nails look after I use the remover. I do like how it left them very moisturized and almost like I had just used cuticle oil. It did take a bit more of rubbing than regular acetone remover, but I can deal with that. A good handwashing is needed before applying your basecoat.
Here is my second attempt. 3 coats with drying time in between coats, no topcoat.
A lovely color.
This took forever to dry and I got many many dents and smudges from waiting. I miss my drying drops! :(
This is about 4 days of wear. Not horrible but I can't look past all the dents and smudges.

Next up is Envy..A vampy green with gold shimmer. At first glance this reminded me of Diamond Cosmetics Not So Ever-Green. I do not own this polish so I can't do a comparison, this is just speculation. I also can't comment on DC formula as I have not used any of their polishes either.

This is 3 coats and this went on a lot better than Frosh. Definitely not as thick.

This is after 3 days of wear. I try to test the wear of np's b/c there are a lot of us girls out there that don't/can't polish our nails every other day.
This hand had a regular drying topcoat on it.
This hand did not.

Mind you I washed three dogs about 2 days prior to this. So this polish held up pretty well.

The polishes are available for $12 each and the remover is $20 here.

Thanks for looking!

My Belated Earth Day NOTD

I am a bit late in posting this, but, whatever :)

This is 3 coats of Orly Mint Mojito + 2 coats L.A. Girl Rock Star Crowd Surfing. Glittery, flakey good-ness!

This was only 12 hours after applying it so I don't know why the tip wear was so bad and it applied horribly but I think I still had some cuticle oil still on my nails. My bad!!

The day before Earth Day I went to a green event for my job and I got this thingy- can't remember what it's really called. You soak it in water then plant it and wildflowers grow from it. I love how it's the Earth so cool!

The bad part is this combo stained the s%@! out of my nails! It stained them yellow too. Horrible! I better find a good basecoat. I think I used one under this.

I will be having something special for all of you soon, see HERE for some details.

Sinful Colors Rise & Shine

I was thinking this was a different color totally! I was thinking this was Mint Apple, but it definitely wasn't but not in a bad way! This is a really vibrant teal IRL and I couldn't wear it for more than 2 days because it was just too bright for me. But I may be using this for a summer pedi!

Thanks for stopping by!

NOTD: STP Ruffian-esc Mani

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
Now that that's out of the way....On to my mani!

First I started out with 2 coats of Hard Candy Envy. A beautiful, vampy blackened green with shimmer.

Then I added one coat of Glitter Gals 3D Holo Polish in Green. And I tried to do a bit of a Ruffian mani with it.
Then I slapped on Nailene green flower nail stickers and a little white one (because it got stuck on me when I tried to remove the green one). Then a coat of SH Insta-Dri and...

I tried to apply these water decals but they were a PITA to cut and apply not to mention clear so it didn't really work to well on this polish. I'll have to try these next year.

Thanks for looking and have a great St. Patrick's Day!!!

Glitter Gal Holo Polishes

I was recently sent 2 polishes from Glitter Gal to review. Just seeing these in the bottles are gorgeous!

First up is Red. It's a bit more of a coarse holo then the second one I was sent, Green. But, nevertheless, it shined and holo-ed brightly. This was 2 coats. I could have gotten away with one thick coat, but excellent application!

In the sun it shines like it's lit from within!

The next one I was sent was Green. It was definitely sheer and much more smooth than Red. But even more holo-y goodness. This was three coats.

Also lit from within!
If you would like to buy these holo polishes they are available here for AUD$9.95. These bottles are rather small, but some of the colors are VERY unique!

Thanks for looking!

*I was sent these polishes by the company in exchange for an honest review.
