My REAL Christmas mani

I got this idea from Nora @ Nail of the week's Christmas tree konad. I really love what she did, but unfortunately I did not have that plate. I really thought I did, so I ended up using one the biggest star from the half-circle of stars on m3.

Here's some pic spam:

I will upload some better pics tomorrow morning. EDIT: Here are the pics from this morning:

I started with a base color of ChG Emerald Sparkle and let's see if I can get all of these colors right for the stars:
Zoya Trixie
ChG Solar Power
a Massini Fall purple holo w/no name
OPI Blue Moon Lagoon (for stars and big snowflake on thumb)
Revlon Lily Chrome
ChG Ruby Pumps
SH Radiant
ChG Frostbite
and I think that's it!

Then I topped it off with a shaken Northern Lights holo topcoat.

Hope you like it!

Have a Merry Christmas!!

Revlon Typhoon and a Comparison

This is what looks to be my favorite of the ones from my mom's closet.

Revlon Typhoon

I really really really really (and a ton more) liked how this one turned out. It was a dream to apply (even being 10+ years old) and it dried at a normal speed.

I thought I would try it matte too. I really don't like matte, but some colors I think might have to be matted just to try out.

I used ChG Matte Magic. I thought this turned out very well and is pretty!

I also thought Typhoon looked similar to another polish that I have in my collection, NYX Girl Morrocco. So it's comparison time!

Even though I noticed during comparing the bottles, Morrocco isn't as purple as Typhoon, I still continued with the comparison.

Pointer=Morrocco
Middle=Typhoon

Both are worth owning!

Thanks for looking!

I Raided My Mom's Closet and Look What I Found!

Ok, ok so it's my really old stash from high school found at my mom's house, but whatever it's still nail polish!!!

Let's start with the awesome part: tons of del sol nail polishes from our visit to Nasau.

I totally forgot about all of these! There is even a second of Looking Glass in there. I think some of these are discontinued, too! More on the del sol's in a minute.

Here's an OLD Sinful Japonese Violet, then 2 Jessica's Silk (swatch below) and Pashmina.

No brand name for the blue or the yellow, but the colors are Liquid Affair and Space Girlz. The one on the right is a Bonnie Bell (i believe) scented topcoat in pretty (haven't smelled it yet-- don't know if I should go there :) )

Revlon Super Speed in Typhoon, Maybelline Utlimate Wear in Sun Drops, and L'Oreal Jet-Set Quick Dry in Dawning Rose

This is Del Sol Medusa. I hate how this turned out on my nails. It just looks old and makes my nails look really yellow. I think this is about 4 coats.

In the sun. As you can see it's not really changing colors. It looks a little purple.

but it looks nothing like it should. I even let the bottle sit in the sun for about a half an hour and it didn't end up any darker. Maybe these would be good to use for 'nadding (this will be in a later post).
Here is a close up of Jessica Silk, lovely in the bottle.

Very pretty on the nail, but it took forever to dry- probably the old age.
There will be more swatches of these polishes coming up! If there are any that you would like to see swatched, let me know in the comments!
Thanks for looking!

NOTD: Revlon Scented Nail Polish Pretty in Papaya

I wanted to use all of my summer colors that I have on hand because summer is fading quickly in my part of the world. I am one of those girls that likes to wear the colors that go with the season, but I tend to venture off of that every once in a while.

So here is the lovely Revlon Pretty in Papaya one of the scented polishes that came out this spring. It is not a true red maybe more of a cross between a red and a coral. I am really into this shade for some reason right now. And the smell is not overpowering in the least. (please forgive my cuticles, since I filed my nails down it is so much easier for me to pick at them)

NOTD: Revlon Scented Nall Polish Not So Blue-berry

Last week I talked about how I found Revlon Scented Nail Polish- Fruitful Temptations. When I saw the display I could not pass up the Not So Blue-berry. It is a great shimmery blurple duochrome! I just love it!

When I first put it on, it has a combo smell of nail polish and fake smelly blueberries. Like the strong Bonniebell lipglosses from when you are kids. Do you remember that strong smelly stuff?

**EDIT: I just smelled my nails and now they smell like something sweet and sour, like Warheads!**

I used a basecoat, two coats of Not So Blue-berry, and a topcoat. Even though I used the topcoat, I could still smell the fake blueberries. It did take a while to dry, probably about a half an hour!

The smell lasted for a good day, I think. After about a day, the smell really started to wear off and now 2 days later I can kinda smell it. I love how it smells now! It just was a little bothersome when you are eating with your hands and you smell the fake blueberries. Like a ham and turkey sandwhich and then you smell that, just a little strange, right?

I think I'll probably get the rest of the collection when they are on sale, if they last that long. I don't know about you, but I'd rather smell something else than nail polish!
I have only found these at Walgreens. Have you found them anywhere else? Have you bought any of these yet? Are you thinking about it?

Revlon Fruitful Temptations

Before I forget to mention it, removal on that Artist's Sapphire was absolutely horrible! It stained my nails and my fingers, like I was finger coloring! Mary have you had that problem with Finger Paints? Maybe I put too many coats on? IDK

Anyways...on to the real news!
Has any one seen these? I was looking for those glimmer glosses at a Walgreens and I happened to turn around and I spotted this display. I checked out the colors and I thought the blue on the far right was kinda pretty. I started to walk away until I actually looked at what the display said. "Scented When Dry" I was like NO WAY!!! So I nabbed Not So Blue-berry. It's a lavender with silver shimmer, sorry no pic of it, maybe later.

Have you ladies seen these at all? Or heard of them?

On to even more important news...

My puppy turned 2 today!

Here she is getting one of her presents. Her special treats which is the only treat she can have b/c she has a sensitive tummy :(

I'm showing her her new collar and she is ignoring me b/c she is chowing down on her treat. She loves collars, I think it's b/c she likes to have her 'jewelry' on :)

Now I'm just teasing her.

she's getting frustrated

She doesn't like it when daddy tries on her 'jewelry'

too excited to let him put it on her

an excited and proud 'puppy'

apparantly that was exhausting

:)
