The 2 last Mood Struck Polishes

Here are the last 2 Mood Struck Polishes I picked up at Meijer. And if you don't have a Meijer nearby you can buy a couple of these polishes here.

The first is a silver to pink color. I thought that this would be a pink version of this one, but the base color ended up being nothing like the bottle color! It's a silver shimmer with glitter. Here are pics w/o topcoat. I took a lot because this is a really pretty color!

This is my new cocktail ring that I got through Etsy here. But it turns my finger green :(  I tried the clear nail polish trick, but it just chips off.
Cold water
Here's the light orange to darker orange one:

Sorry about the middle finger. This dries kinda like those new vinyl Orlys.
I wanted to show this with topcoat as well, but below is the second day after applying topcoat and it chipped like crazy!
The only different thing I used was a really old bottle of OPI Chip Skip (like 10 years old!)

A lot of the polish cracked on my nails and flaked off.
These polishes aren't the best for wear so I'm not so sure it was the Chip Skip.

The silver/pink one chipped after 3 days with topcoat.

Another Mood Polish!

I went back to Meijer on Friday and picked up 2 more mood polishes. Screw the no-buy, these are awesome!

I got the pale yellow to light pink one.

 Right after applying

Cold water

Warm water
Turning to normal temperature

This is what it normally looks like.

This is three coats then a topcoat then one more coat b/c it was starting to look pretty bad the second day. The application was a bit patchy and there was some cracking the next day, but these are still cool!

New Mood Polishes @ Meijer!

I stopped by Meijer yesterday to see if they had anything that I NEEDED to have since I am trying to go on a no-buy to pay for my wedding--yes, I am engaged, but more on that later!

I found a display of np's called Mood Struck. Sorry for the next 2 pics, camera phone + shakey hands from excitement= really blurrry pics!

Look at all that mood-changing-goodness! Although a lot of them were repeating colors.

Some of them looked like they were very watery and sheer, which I thought meant that they wouldn't work too well. So I picked one that looked like it would be the most drastic change. I went with this one:

This was all that was on each of them.

And they were each $3.99.

Unfortuately when I got home I realized that this really looks like the Calm/Wild from Claire's. So I pulled out that bottle to do a comparison.

Pretty f-ing close, eh?

Mood Struck looks a little bit of a truer purple(?) than Calm/Wild.
Let's see if we can tell the difference...

Can you?

I can't.
This is 2 coats of each. Index and ring are Calm/Wild; Middle and Pinky are Mood Struck. I think :)

It was apparant with the first stroke that Mood Struck was definitely a mood polish! I have to go back for more! Screw the no-buy, these are cheap, beautiful, awesome, what else can I say to justify this purchase?...Everything! Anything!

I'd say that the formula is a little better than Calm/Wild since mine was a little thick.

There was a lovely light pink to pale yellow with shimmer that I really want!

Just for good measure, here's some hot/cold water pics.

For those Mid-westerners, head over to your local Meijer to check these beauties out! They were on a side display at mine.

Has anyone else seen these?

Claire's Mood Nail Polish: Daring/Innocent Layered

Here's another from Claire's Mood polishes, Daring/Innocent. The 'Layered' part of the post comes later and it's good. So if you don't want to see any more swatches of this 'boring' color combo scroll on down.

I love this grey color. I am so into greys right now for some reason...

Then when the hands get a bit warmer, this loveliness shows up...

Then I was thinking 'I wonder what this would look like if I layered a slightly sheer polish over it.' So I took out my one MAC polish Varicose Violet and added one coat to these 2 coats of Daring/Innocent. And here is the beauty that was created...

yowsa!
Then I managed to get my hands on the new Essence stampy set at my local Ulta and used ChG Awaken (?) for one of those stamps...

OOOOOoooooo. I think next time I wear this I will add a sheer blue... What other colors would you layer over this?
